I’m the lawyer who would
rather you never need one.
I built Law Lenz because I kept watching good employers get it wrong. Not because they didn’t care. Because nobody ever showed them how.
Under a minute. That’s all it takes
to know if Law Lenz is for you.
Let’s be honest
about the fit.
- You’ve Googled “can I fire someone for...” at 11pm and went down a rabbit hole. But in the end, you never got a clear answer.
- Your manager told you about a situation AFTER the conversation instead of before. Again.
- You’re the person everyone comes to with HR questions and you’d quite like to actually know the answers.
- Someone just said “let’s put them on a PIP” in a meeting and you’re not entirely sure that’s legal.
- You’d rather understand the process than just be handed an answer and told to get on with it.
- You need a lawyer to represent you in an Employment Relations Authority hearing or employment court.
- You want someone to confirm that what you’ve already decided to do is definitely fine.
- You need a formal legal opinion with a letterhead, disclaimers, and a bill to match.
- You’re hoping one conversation will fix a situation that’s been building since February.
- You’re looking for someone to have the hard conversation for you so you don’t have to.
Most employment disputes I’ve seen were preventable.
Many of the employers I’ve worked with were trying to do the right thing. That’s rarely the problem. The problem is that good intentions don’t mean much when you were never taught the process.
A conversation handled wrong. A warning that wasn’t documented. A good faith misstep early on. By the time it becomes a grievance, it’s much harder to fix.
That’s the gap Law Lenz is here to close. Not a lawyer you call when things go wrong. But the knowledge and skills to handle it before it gets there.
I’m a practising employment lawyer, admitted in both New Zealand and Australia. I built Law Lenz because I kept seeing the same thing play out. Good employers. Wrong outcomes. Disputes that never should have happened.
That’s why in 2023 Law Lenz started with a podcast centered on helping businesses understand employment law. Because a better workplace doesn't just come from fixing culture, it comes from getting your compliance right.
I’m not here to be your lawyer.
I’m here so you don’t need one.
This is what
you should expect.
No “it depends.” No answer so wrapped in conditions it tells you nothing. You ask a question, you get a real answer. Even if that answer is uncomfortable.
You have a business to run. Every session has a point and we get to it quickly. You leave with something you can act on, not a list of things to consider later.
It means I’m thinking about what’s actually good for you, not just what best practice says. You get the actual answer. Not the most cautious one.
If any of this resonated,
the next step is simple.
Tell me what's going on. I respond within one business day.
